Movies .......

A major part of my life has been spent on movies. Yes, it does feels like I have wasted quite a lot of time into them. Its time I do something spectacular or something out of the ordinary which would take most of my time which used to be spent on movies.

Ciao!!

Long time no blog !!

One thing am sure and safe about. Hardly anyone reads my blogs. So if I write anything controversial here,I am quite sure that I won't be arrested.

So, I am going to be quite regular from here on in blogging about what I think. Maybe it would help in getting a clarity about me in particular.

Ciao!!

Awe + Inspiring !!

I never have been so much impressed by technological innovation of any kind than this .. This guy , Pranav Mistry is really a genius. Below is the video of him demonstrating his techno marvel Sixth Sense, which offers a futuristic-looking augmented reality experience..
Sixth Sense is similar to what Tom Cruise does in Minority Report - he flows data on glass surface by moving his hand. Sixth Sense is  novel way to make computing portable. It helps you turn any surface into a PC screen  and call data to that. It can be a sheet of paper or a wall or your palm.
Another novelty is in the way you call data. No need to click - move your hands to indicate what data you want. For more details , check out the video..

Awesome in every sense of the word..

Shame on you guys ...

Here's some piece of startling news..

"Mumbai recorded a low voter turn out of 43.52 per cent on Thursday.

Sources in the Election Commission said that Mumbai North East recorded 42.28 per cent polling, Mumbai North West recorded 49.15 per cent, Mumbai North recorded 46.49 per cent, Mumbai North Central recorded 41.82 per cent and Mumbai South Central recorded 41.85 per cent.

Mumbai South recorded a voter turn out of 43.33 per cent. "

What a shame !! So is this a valid response to what happened during 26/11 ?? The same guys who held long dharnas and candle lit agitations against the politicians and said many things about the system are probably holidaying somewhere in Bahamas...

Where is their feeling for the brave soldiers who died during the attack ??

You guys just don't deserve to say anything more against the system and politicians..

Happy Holidays to all who couldn't vote since it came between their holidaying schedules..

And have a blissful sleep for those who didn't want to venture out in the sun to vote ..preferring rather to sleep in their air conditioned comforts of their swanky houses ..

Happy New Year !!

Well this year has witnessed quite a number of things from an Indian perspective ... The Beijing Olympics failure with respect to India since we could manage only 4 medals in all despite India having the talent to win many medals this time.. The Indian Cricket Team did quite well this year , their losses notwithstanding. It was a good team effort on behalf of team India which managed to outplay the Australians in their own den i.e the WACA Perth ground which was a terrific performance after the Sydney fiasco.. I would say that the other teams gathered confidence from this win that the Australian team isn't INVINCIBLE.. Team South Africa being the example.
Then their were many bomb blasts rocking different Indian cities which managed to show the incompetency of our intelligence and security agencies..
This came very much to the fore when Mumbai was finally attacked so daringly. After the clandestine way in which many bombs were planted in Mumbai , maybe the terrorist agencies took confidence from the fact that there is no way that they are going to be caught. And this confidence showed during the Black Wednesday ..
But their were good things happening with India which I would like to share such as the CHANDRAYAAN MISSION, India's first mission to the moon .. the nuclear deal with the US .. which I think was very much needed for India.. I am not getting into details of that..
So with a positive attitude that people of India would chose the right leader in the next elections and their would be no untoward incident which would enable other countries to point fingers towards us and the Indian Team or any individual representing our country in sports make our country proud.. We need their achievements to be proud about so that we get some topics to write about when we are bored writing about politics :-)

So a Happy Happy New Year to all of my fellow Indians .. Be strong because the following year would fully try to test our patience and integrity ..

Movie Mania !!

Movies .. quite a considerable part of my life has been spent seeing movies... my mom,dad , 2 elder brothers.. all were movie buffs.. so my becoming a movie buff wasn't quite a surprise. During my childhood days , DD or Doordarshan showed us movies during Saturdays and Sundays. Having no option, we had to see all the movies that came by. the regional movies shown during Sunday afternoons would also be seen. It was basically the matter of choice. Since we had no choice , we viewed every possible movie coming our way.. okay.. granted that exam time movie watching was a strict no.. but still it was a period during which i developed a taste for movies..
After we took Cable Connection, we began to view movies by the dozen.. then the craze lessened to a great extent. This went till i completed my 12th exam.. though i used to see movies but it was what i called normal viewing.. no craze ...
Now , with advent of new channels and and channels willing to show the latest movies and also the classics.. it was a win win situation for a movie buff like me..
A big thanks to all d movie channels since i myself didnt go to the theatre till i was in the first year of my graduation. So all the movie watching was done ghar baithe

Set Max, Zee Cinema .. the two channels which made me pass away my tym with considerable ease..
Nowadays .. UTV movies and World Movies as well as Zee studio employs much of my viewing time since they are showing really great movies, classic movies....
More posts on the Movies topic coming soon...

A eventful train journey ...

Recently I went to Mangalore for my cousin's wedding not expecting this to be one of my memorable trips.. Actually I had decided not to go for the wedding, but changed my decision at the last moment. Even though we had booked our tickets( Matsyagandha Express) three months in advance which is what was required , our tickets were not confirmed(Damn those Railway agents). So we were to make the journey by trying to reserve our seats besides the toilet and we had with us a family of 3 ( We were a family of 4), a railway policeman and a guy .
My dad was quite angry with us for not making it in time for alighting the train. The scheduled timing for the train was 2.05 p.m and we had reached the station at 1.25 p.m . And surprise surprise . . the train was there waiting for the endless commuters like us( I mean the WAITING LISTERS and the people travelling in Open Coaches). And so we had to go through the entire coaches of the train to see whether there's a place enough for 4 of us. Finally we got 1 but my dad was not happy with it and we searched further but couldn't find a larger place.
Then the train journey began. With my brother at one door of the coach and my mom at the other door, we had effectively sealed the seats for us till the evening. Then me n my mom used to exchange places regularly. With my father at the centre guarding our bags we had much space enough for 4 of us I thought.
We had with us a family of 3 i.e Dad, Mom and their cute little 4-5 year old daughter. The little girl and me gelled quite fast and she used to call me with a really nice name i.e BHAU.. which in Marathi means brother.. She used to roam over that small place making her father angry. She used to recite her K.G poems and also dance while singing them. I do miss her vibrant smile and also her way of saying  BHAU..
Also we had a railway policeman with us who was to travel to Kundapur for some work and he was seated into the seat meant for the Ticket Checker and other railway officials. He actually was a great help as he made arrangements for us to get some sleep in that small space.
And then we had a guy with us who was to get down at Madgaon.. since we had made the door seats our own .. he had to stand for most of the afternoon.. Then he got himself a seat and was sulking all the evening. Only when it was time for dinner that we left the door and came inside and then he captured that seat and he wasn't ready to leave that. We had our dinner and made our sleeping arrangements with us at the center(i.e me and my mom my brother towards the left and my father in the seat in which the policeman was seated (He went to sleep in one of the coaches.) and the other family to our right. The guy was seated at the door with the door open.
And now the action started. The little girl was shivering due to the fast gushes of air coming.. and so her father requested  him to close the door to which he acted as if he hadn't heard anything. This enraged her father who made it clear to him to close the door. Still he was making some wierd gestures and this was the boiling point as the father juz picked him up and pushed him towards the toilet. And then he got up somewhat surprised and the he took the filmy route of lashing out at him.. He just clapped a few times and then said.. " This is what your parents has taught you. You maybe would be teaching the same to your daughter also. I considered your age otherwise i too would have done something".
That guy got down at Madgaon muttering something.. Afterwards it was a peaceful journey with me reading a book  to pass away the time. The other family got down at Udipi and we got down at our hometown Surathkal..
And surprise surprise... none of the T.C s checked our tickets.. probably they knew it's of no use since the train was jam packed and the no of WAITING LISTERS are on the higher side..
P.S :: I forgot to mention my friends who were part of this trip. My friends Rohit,Pravin and Naresh had actually come to the railway station to see me off.. So once again my apologies to you all..
